Thank You for Supporting CSM’s Mission
to Form Young Christian Lives!

CSM is held in a trust governed by an independent Board of Trustees. While the Archdiocese of Detroit had generously donated the services of one its priests for decades, they are not responsible for CSM financially. This means that we are responsible to secure our own funding to advance the mission that has been passed down to us since our founding in 1933. To continue this essential work, we need your help. Are you feeling called to donate? Thank you for your prayerful consideration!

Your gift today to CSM's Year-End Annual Appeal
will go even further in forming and transforming young lives.
An anonymous donor has agreed to match the contributions we receive up to $22,000!
Practically speaking, this DOUBLES your donation, turning your $50 gift into $100 for us, and your $250 donation into $500 for us!

On behalf of our campers and their families, please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your support of Camp Sancta Maria’s 2024 Benefit Dinner. We are honored to have a role in the process of forming young Christian lives–the lives of our children and grandchildren–and we are truly grateful you have chosen to partner with us in this most important mission.

2023 ANNUAL APPEAL

“O God, grant that whatever good things I have, I may share generously with those who have not, and whatever good things I do not have, I may request humbly from those who do.” -St. Thomas Aquinas

It is because of your generous support that so many young people are able to experience the gift of Camp. At the end of this past summer, we were looking at a photo of Msgr. Chawke and Mr. Bean. It prompted the question, “Do you think they had any idea, when they opened camp in 1933, the number of young people who would come through the gates and be impacted by CSM?” Our presumption is they did not and were simply responding to the Lord’s call. Their yes, however, has continued to make a difference in the lives of so many children today. Your yes, of a donation, in support of Camp will also make a difference for years to come. As you support CSM, you help to shape and form young people to go out and make a difference in the world. They grow in confidence, foster friendships that support them along the way, and are strengthened in their walk with the Lord through the Sacraments.

You do not have to take our word on the impact of your generous yes. Here are a few words from one of our long-time campers who shared the impact camp has had on her.

I hope you know how much camp means to everyone who attends. It’s the place where I found God, my closest friends, and myself. I don’t know where I would be without camp. Camp is the one place that I feel no judgment, that I can finally be who God wants me to be, and where I am truly 100% happy. There is no place I would choose to be above CSM.”

Thank you for your yes to carrying on the mission began by Msgr. Chawke and Mr. Bean. Thank you for making an impact in the lives of so many young people. Thank you for your yes to God’s call in your life to support CSM.  We cannot continue the work we do at CSM without you and we are so grateful for your support of this most important mission entrusted to us by the Lord.

At CSM, our campers experience everything from the adventure and adrenaline rush of the zip line to the refreshment of the beach. The excitement of horseback riding and the team building in our sports programs. The thrill of our Arc Games and the quiet creativity in our Crafts program.

Will you help us enhance these programs with new equipment and materials? The following items are needed:
  • Sports: soccer balls, frisbees, and footballs
  • Beach: water polo nets, canoe paddles,  and life jackets
  • Corral: helmets and ‘lil dudes chaps
  • Arc Games: materials like glue, padding, and duct tape, etc. to build and repair game gadgets, tools and armor
  • Crafts: Tie dye kits, paint, beads, etc.
  • Ropes Course: harnesses and general repairs and maintenance
  • Archery Tag:  Replacement limbs for the archery tag bows and arrows

Can’t decide which is your favorite program but still want to make a donation? You can also donate to support our Scholarship Fund or make a donation to be used as needed.

We are eternally grateful, as we can’t do this without you! Thank you and God bless you!

Your donations support CSM families, facilities, and programs. Because of your gifts, kids are able to come to Camp and learn new skills, make new friends, work as a team, encourage and support one another, and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Faith and fun all in one place!  All of this is possible because of YOU! Thank you!

In addition, we strive to provide every child access to the CSM experience regardless of their ability to pay. CSM’s Scholarship Fund allows us to ensure, with your help, that no child is turned away.

Please join us as we remember CSM alumnus Trevor Kyriakoza, who went home to be with our Lord on August 19, 2021, at the tender age of 30.

Some of you may remember Trevor, who was both a camper and a counselor between 2002 and 2009.

If you wish to send a card of condolence, please mail it to Camp (PO Box 613; Washington, MI 48094) and we will forward it to his family.

In love and friendship, we share in the sorrow of the entire Kyriakoza family. The continued prayers of your CSM family are with you.

Eternal rest grant unto Trevor, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Through monthly donations, Camp Champions provide CSM with a consistent and reliable source of funding that allows us a financial foundation to plan ahead. When you become a Camp Champion, you join a special group of people making a big impact with small gifts to help change children’s lives. Thank you!

Will you partner with us as we TAKE AIM
at exciting new programs at CSM?

The cancellation of our day trip to Mackinac Island due to COVID-19 restrictions has given us an opportunity to explore some new action-packed programs for our campers right on the grounds of CSM.

Enter archery tag, which combines elements of dodgeball or other challenge-type games with the timeless skills of archery. Players take aim at each other with non-lethal soft foam-tipped arrows to score points or eliminate opposing team members. Our campers will enjoy the adventure and adrenaline rush, while moms and dads will appreciate the family-friendly nature of this unique sport.

Our new archery tag program is for the kiddos, but you can join in the fun vicariously by helping us purchase the best quality equipment. Together we can build the safest equipment and most thrilling archery tag program possible for our children and grandchildren.

GIVING TUESDAY RESULTS

A huge thank you to all who participated in our Giving Tuesday fundraiser! We are very grateful to each and every one of you!

We even had a camper who donated the $55.00 he raised from collecting returnable bottles and cans in his community. Thank you, Owen!

And so the big question on everyone’s mind is….
WHICH IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE WHILE AT CSM?
BEACH OR CORRAL?
Drumroll, please….
Donations for the Corral totaled $1,915 and donations for the Beach totaled $1,467. Thank you for your generosity. We are sincerely grateful to you.

But of course the real winners are our campers. Our children and grandchildren who attend CSM will benefit from the use of all the equipment we’ll be able to purchase for the corral and the beach because of your prayerful and financial support.

We can’t do this without you! We keep repeating it because it’s true. It is only with your support that we can continue to offer our campers the wonderful programs available at Camp Sancta Maria.

Together we are doing great things at CSM for our children and grandchildren !

Know that your prayers and financial support make all the difference!

Thank you again. Stay safe and God bless you.
